Where to celebrate National Chocolate Week

Calling all choc-aholics! National Chocolate Week is taking place from 13-19 October and hotels and restaurants around London are celebrating with chocolately treats. Here's the low-down on five of the sweetest spots in the capital to get your cocoa fix

  • 1. The Corinthia Hotel

    The Lobby Lounge at Corinthia Hotel London is celebrating Chocolate Week with a specially crafted range of hot chocolates. Inspired by their favourite chocolate combinations, sipping this sweet treat is an absolute must for all chocolate lovers! The hot chocolate menu is available until 19 October 2014.

  • 2. Hotel Café Royal

    The Café at Hotel Café Royal is joining the Chocolate Week 2014 celebrations with a cocoa-centric menu available to enjoy within or take-away. Highlights include Celtic Scallop Ceviche with orange and cocoa nibs, Carpaccio of venison, chocolate marshmallows and parmesan and Cocoa Chipotle salsa and crispy fajitas. For the sweet tooth, executive pastry chef Andrew Blas and his team have created exclusive treats especially for Chocolate Week, including three new flavours of macaroons Chocolate and orange, Milky bar and Baylands bahibe, using Valrhona’s intense sweet chocolate. A new Café signature Circle Lait chocotate torte, Mint and Chocolate Chip shortbread, Chocolate Chiffon Sponge, ‘Cazzella Opera 1865’ and Terracotta Union Cake will also be available exclusively throughout the week.

  • 3. Sauterelle

    Situated on the mezzanine level of the Royal Exchange, Sauterelle will be embracing all things chocolatey. Head chef Stefano Leone, has whipped up some culinary delights for all chocolate lovers from Classic Sacker cake to delicious Cacao cannelloni.

  • 4. Plum + Spilt Milk

    The pudding experts at Gü have been invited to produce a limited edition product for Plum + Spilt Milk at the Great Northern Hotel, King’s Cross. In a partnership inspired by Gü’s classic restaurant-quality Melting Middles, the new limited edition Gü Chocolate & Tonka Bean Melting Middle will feature on the restaurant’s first ever National Chocolate Week three-course menu. The unique menu features four types of chocolate as core ingredients in the savoury dishes as well as the sweet, offering chocolate enthusiasts the ultimate indulgence. The result is a fantastic take on classic dishes with a luxurious Gü twist.

  • 5. The Chocolate Show

    Salon du Chocolat (as the Chocolate Show is also known) is a three day show taking place at London's Olympia from 17-19 October. The show sees chocolatiers, chefs and cocoa experts come together under one roof to celebrate the sweet stuff. But the icing on the cake has to be the chocolate fashion show: some of the world's top designers have created couture outfits out of… yes, you've guessed it: chocolate. We can't wait!
