    Almeida’s Head Chef Tommy Boland has put together an innovative bespoke Valentine’s Day tasting menu. The six-course tasting menu will take diners on a journey of the senses using only the finest seasonal ingredients with dishes appearing on the menu from Cornish mackerel, braised short rib of beef and baked blood orange cheesecake. Almeida’s main dining room is filled with natural light, enhanced by earthy, raw materials and a neutral, balanced colour palette, reflecting Chef Tommy’s food.   • 2. Chai Wu

    Chai Wu, which opened on the fifth floor of Harrods on 18 January, has created a special set menu for Valentine’s Day. Diners can enjoy a six-course menu at the new modern Chinese restaurant created by chef Jason See Meng Hwa, and overseen by Ian Pengelley, group executive chef. Mouthwatering dishes include Ying and Yang dumplings, roasted Chilean sea bass, Beijing duck and a sumptuous white and dark chocolate fondant for dessert.     The boutique hotel, The Lodge, is our idea of the perfect romantic getaway and the Putney property’s new restaurant and bar, Hide & Seed, is sure to put you in the mood for romance. The venue hosts three distinct areas: a bar, lounge and an intimate library filled with leather-bound classics and comfy armchairs in which to enjoy an aphrodisiac cocktail with homemade rainbow roots crisp on arrival. Start with Grilled asparagus, caramelized figs and fresh tomatoes cream served with walnut & chillies warm vinaigrette before moving onto mains such as Roasted salmon or Pork Tenderloin.     For a true Valentine's celebration this year, head to the heart of Soho where London institution Randall & Aubin will create the perfect romantic meal for two, with a sharing dish of hot oysters. Also known as natures own aphrodisiac, guests can enjoy Randall & Aubin's signature oysters, prepared with shrimps and bacon and cooked in a hazelnut liquor, accompanied by a glass of Pinot Grigio Blush Spumante, a fine and stylish sparkly, excellent with shellfish. Randall and Aubin was London's first French butcher shop. Opening in 1908, its clientele has included Winston Churchill and Elizabeth David, amongst many others. Jamie Poulton and Ed Baines transformed it into one of Londons most loved restaurants over 17 years ago, and it has now become renowned for serving excellent seafood, as well as and an impressive array of classic French and British dishes. Ed Baines passion for excellent, simple and delicious food is reflected in each of the dishes. The venue has retained many of its original features with the stylish additions of marble tables, antique chandeliers and a retro disco ball.
