Award-winning London restaurant launches weekly vegan day
Spring is just around the corner and to celebrate the new season, tibits - voted ‘Best Vegetarian Restaurant’ in the prestigious Cook Vegetarian awards - is launching ‘Vegan Tuesday’.
Every Tuesday all animal products will be off the menu to make way for an innovative array of vegan dishes. Their goal is to encourage people to adopt a vegan diet at least one day a week - not only for personal health, but also for the health of the planet.
What’s on a 100 per cent vegan tibits’ food boat? Expect sensational salads and seasonal hot dishes including Leek & Sage Spelt Risotto, Peruvian Quinoa Tabbouleh and Cauliflower Eliachi. And be sure to save room for dessert: the Sticky Toffee Pudding and Apple & Rhubarb Crumble – are definitely worth ditching the diet for.
Why is tibits introducing Vegan Tuesday? It’s partly because that’s what the restaurant’s loyal guests say that they want (throughout 2014, they eschewed all animal products every 10 days.) It’s also a natural progression from Meat Free Monday - the international campaign spearheaded by Sir Paul, Stella and Mary McCartney to persuade people to avoid meat once a week.
So whether you’re a carnivore, confirmed vegan or simply fancy following in the footsteps of pop royalty Beyoncé - who recently launched a vegan meal delivery service with her trainer Marco Borges - make Tuesday the day you try out a plant-based diet at tibits.
Situated in the heart of Regent Street’s Food Quarter, tibits s an all-day stylish boutique vegetarian restaurant from Switzerland. Customers create their own meal from a selection of tempting dishes inspired by flavours from around the world. Food is priced by weight meaning the customer is complete control of what they eat, how much they eat and how much they pay. Fans of the restaurant include Hollywood actress Ellen Page, British comedian Alan Davies, Bianca Jagger and iconic British designer Pam Hogg.
